Healthy Optumism campaign
Role: Senior copywriter, Optum
Deliverables: Creative concepts, digital and in-office copy
Let’s face it: It’s a tough time to work in healthcare. So to help make Optum’s employees feel uplifted, energetic, and ready to make healthcare better for everyone, we came up with an internal campaign that would coincide with the launch of the company’s updated branding. We called it “Healthy Optumism.” At Optum’s headquarters in Minneapolis, an office-wide takeover, plus virtual campaign components, would motivate thousands of employees every day. Healthy Optumism is our creative expression and company ethos, and we brought it to life for our employees—Optumists—in big and small ways.

Spotify playlists
I helped write the campaign’s manifesto, which was put up in multiple prominent locations around HQ.
I wrote campaign copy that would appear around HQ, on everything from walls, staircases, and elevators to napkins, glasses, coffee sleeves, fortune cookies, and even the cafeteria’s donut station.
Our creative team made Spotify playlists in a variety of genres to brighten employees’ days. I came up with the playlist titles (I’m especially proud of the punk playlist “All the Small Wins”) and wrote the signage telling employees how to get their groove on.
